There were quite a lot of tourists on the bus, when we were on our way here, but we were the only tourists who got off in Donghae. This small town on the East Coast of South Korea doesn’t have many highlights. We found it a great place to stop over on our way south, to have an idea of the ‘real’ South Korea

Just behind our hotel was a nice beach in a bay between two hills. On one of the hills we found the Gamchusa temple, a small buddhist temple.

We visited as well the Cheongok Bat Cave. The bats have left a long time ago, because apparently they don’t like people to run around in their home.

Donghae town is at its most beautiful during the night, when the neonlights embellish the ugly buildings.
